Lotte van Drunen of the Beursfoon KTM team won both heats of the Open Dutch Championship 65cc event at Eersel. She led off the start in both races, and was never challenged on the day. She has handsomely increased her points lead in the championship standings.
Lotte’s class rode together with the bigger 85cc small wheel machines. Her RK Service – tuned KTM was flying, and she posted the fastest time of both classes combined. A good start in race one saw Lotte in an initial fourth place. By the second corner, she had already moved up to second, and not long after, she was in the lead. The boys behind her were pushing hard, and she extracted the maximum out of her bike to win the race.
Lotte tried to get a better start in race two, and indeed launched into second place. She passed the leading rider at the first jump, and rode to another victory. This brought her the overall victory in the 65cc class, although she in fact had beaten all the 85cc riders as well. She has increased her lead in the championship standings.
Lotte will participate in the third round of the 65cc European Championship elimination series this coming weekend at Reutlingen in Germany.
