The Beursfoon KTM team has had a successful weekend. All four riders managed to finish on the podium in the Dutch Championship races in Mill and Arnhem.
Milan and Sem Beijer were riding at the amateur federation in Mill on Saturday. Milan managed to win the first moto of the 65 big wheels class and finished second in the second moto, which gave him second overall. Sem Beijer finished second overall in the 85 big wheels class with a 1-2 moto score.
The complete team was in Arnhem on Sunday to race the Dutch Open round. Milan started the day with the seventh fastest time in time practice. In the first moto he took a good start but unfortunately he made a mistake in the first corner and started the race in seventh. He worked his way by several other riders and with a good rhythm he managed to finish the race in second position. At the end of the day there was another surprise for Milan because he received his trophy out of the hands of four times world champion Jeffrey Herlings.
The Beursfoon KTM team was successful in the 85 class as well. Kay de Wolf took pole position in front of Scott Smulders and Sem Beijer ended the session in fifth position. In the first moto it was Sem Beijer who took the holeshot in his new Fox gear. In the opening lap he made a mistake in a rut and dropped back to sixth position. Sem stayed calm and came back to fifth place during the race.
Kay de Wolf started the race around tenth position but after some passing manoeuvres he worked his way up into third position by the end of the lap. In the following laps he worked his way up to first position and managed to keep this position in his hands till the checkered flag waved. Scott was struggling to find his rhythm in the beginning of the race but as the race went on he fought his way back up to third place.
Because it didnt stopped raining, the organisation decided to cancel the second motos. This weekend Milan and Sem Beijer are riding an amateur federation race in Kleinhau, Germany and on Sunday Milan will race the Dutch Open in Halle and Kay, Scott and Sem are racing the beachrace in Vlissingen.
